It’s almost time for the Dorset County Show!

On a rainy day like today,it’s hard to imagine us making our debut in the Plant Avenue at the Dorset County Show! I love this agricultural show- so much to see and a more intimate, friendly atmosphere than some of the larger shows.

See http://www.dorsetcountyshow.co.uk/page/home  for details and to buy tickets online!

We are hoping to have some great plants on our stall ranging from the wonderful shade loving Brunnera’s and also Astrantia which are so useful in the more shady spots, to the colourful sunlovers Rudbeckia Deamii and Salvia Icing Sugar.

Two plants which I always try to point out to prospective buyers on the stall are 2 of my alltime favourites- Parahebe Mervyn which is such a wonderful food source for those early bees in April and Fuchsia Lady Boothby-the climbing fuchsia which excels in it’s strong and rapid growth during the season to drip with gorgeous flowers until the first frosts.A lot of people aren’t familiar with some of the more unusual plants and many are real gems in the garden.

Today, I have found my pinking shears in the loft and I am going to put my hand to creating some flowery bunting to decorate our little stall. Hopefully it will last a while and we can use it for a nice few sales!

We hope to see a few of you over the first weekend of Sept at Dorset County Show-come and find us and say Hello!
